Jerry Lorenzo x Nike = Nike Air Fear of God 1
The packaging is never seen before, with the right and left shoe packaged separately in the same box. Our initial impression of the design is that it looked clunky and boot-like, but when actually worn and played in, it doesn’t feel that at all!
The leather is soft and will conform to your foot after you break into the shoes. This leather quality should be used for all future basketball shoes.
Nike FoG 1 features a solid and translucent spiral pattern on the base of the shoes that work well on both clean and dusty courts. Not recommended to be played on outdoor courts though due to the thin pattern.
Lacing placement could be better, ideally one more on the upper ankle area and one more on the vamp area (the part of the shoe behind the toe) to help with support. Also, when laced up tightly, the plastic pieces tend to dig into the feet.
The Nike FoG1 features a full-length Zoom Air Technology, double-stacked provides a level of comfort like no other.
Support and Lockdown
The very high cut design provides adequate support for the ankle. Lacing has less effect, but anything above the plastic designs feels more flimsy. Gets the job done, but needs time to get used to.
Fits slightly longer than a normal size. Do try them on before you purchase.
p.s. It might be hard to get your feet out of the shoe after basketball due to the long and narrow opening.
Not something I MUST play in, but a very beautiful shoe that should go into any shoe collector’s collection
