This is the second signature shoe of Mr. Triple-Double himself – Russell Westbrook!
Design
We’re unboxing the Russell Westbrook All-Star colorway which is what he wore during the All-Star game. The colorway will definitely turn heads, that’s all we can say.
Material
The WhyNot 0.2 features a mix of mesh and Knit, which is nothing special, but works. The shoe has a minimal break-in time and conforms to your foot, as well as being flexible and breathable.
Traction
Solid outsole with smaller circular nubs gives your maximum grip on the court. Not recommended to play outdoors as it will wear out quite quickly, but traction is excellent on any indoor courts!
Cushion
The shoe features ‘Unlock Zoom’ which essentially means two separate Zoom units fitted in the forefoot and the heel of the shoe. I personally feel it’s actually a smoother ride than a full-length Zoom, which was the cushion setup for his first signature shoe. Maximum impact protection, really good court feel and good heel-to-toe transition. Cushioning is A1.
Support and Lockdown
The traditional lacing system provides an adequate lockdown system. The heel area is slightly narrow, which creates some instability if you land on your heel. So, not great, but adequate.
Fit
Recommended to fit true to size. As always though, try them out in store before purchase!
Overall Thoughts
Definitely an improvement over the first signature shoe! Excited to see what’s coming up next for Mr. Triple Double’s signature shoes!
